🎙 All the Answers Lies in The Hidden Things

Hey You! Welcome back to another episode of On the Other Side of Anyway—the podcast where I help you uproot hidden barriers and transform the way you think about things—so the things you think about transform. I do this because I believe what you magnify, you multiply.

So sis, let’s magnify what actually moves you forward! Today, we’re talking about “Hidden Things—What Lies Beneath.”

Let’s start with our anchor scripture: Luke 8:17 "For nothing is hidden that will not be made manifest, nor is anything secret that will not be known and come to light."

I believe until those hidden things are revealed you won’t be able to walk the path before you

Disruptive Statement: Have you ever started on a journey, only to realize your directions led you somewhere you never planned to be?

when I first moved to Tampa Bay. Back home, I had my favorite spots, but when I got here, none of them were close by. One day, I was craving some Popeyes Chicken, so I pulled out my phone, put it in the GPS, and got excited when I saw there was one nearby. My family and I hopped in the car, already tasting that first bite in our minds. But as we got closer, something wasn’t adding up.

We didn’t see the sign, we didn’t smell that spicy fried chicken, but I thought, ‘Well, maybe it’s tucked away somewhere.’ Then, Google Maps proudly announced, ‘You’ve arrived!’—as we pulled into the parking lot of… a Chase Bank.

I was sitting there, looking at my phone like, ‘No ma’am, this is not it!’

The disappointment was real. But here’s the thing—the GPS didn’t know that had moved. The information was outdated, and even with a roadmap, because I didn’t know the area, I was still lost.

This is what it was like working with not quite ready buyers and the catalyst to starting my coaching business. My biggest lesson was from the roadmap I laid out for their success, it would reveal key missing information, such as hidden barriers, old programming, and deep-rooted beliefs keeping them from their destination they we weren’t aware of… and neither was I.

Their journey was homeownership, and even with my roadmap in hand, some most often remained lost.

It was a valuable lesson that serves me to this day… you can’t lead without all the information, and they can’t be successful until they uproot what lies beneath the surface - let’s talk about it

Transition into Coaching Journey:

When I first started coaching, I wanted to help first-time homebuyers navigate the process of purchasing a home. So, I created a program to guide people through what I thought was the biggest financial decision of their lives.

I figured, if I could just educate them, connect them with resources, and give them the tools the needed—and most importantly be there to hold them accountable to their goals. I believed homeownership was within reach—that’s what I thought.

I quickly realized— It wasn’t just about credit scores, mortgage approvals or down payments. It was about more than just buying a house.

And that realization started with a woman I’ll call Stephanie.

Stephanie walked into one of my open houses, and I asked her the same question I posed to every visitor, “are you just looking or are you in the market to buy?” She said I’m not sure if I can, but I am ready to buy.” her statement is not uncommon, many people don’t understand the buying process or their buying power. I asked her a few more questions before setting an appointment to have a one-on-one chat to see how I could help her buy a home.

As promised, we met later that week and over coffee Stephanie told me what she desired and needed in her home and a few details about her financial situation. I reviewed the first initial steps that must take place before we get to the viewing homes stage one of which was connecting her to one of my preferred lenders to establish her ability to purchase and tell us what her buying power was.

I gave Stephanie a list of items to complete before our next meeting and we ended our meeting we me promising to follow-up after hearing back from the lender.

Within a couple days we learned that Stephanie had some work to do before she could start her home search.

Even with the new I was optimistic and hopeful because I knew how much homeownership meant to Stephanie. And I’ve had buyers complete a lender’s task list and go on to purchase the home of their dreams.  I encouraged her by saying if she completed the task the lender had given her this would be merely a dream deferred not a dream denied.

She promised to get her task completed promptly and I promised to stay in touch by checking on her progress. For the first maybe 90 days I called Stephanie monthly, and she answered hope still in her voice even though she had not completed any of her task, she assured me she was still in it to win it.

As time inched on, it seemed each month brought some type of emergency for her, if it wasn’t car maintenance, it was an unexpected bill that would throw Stephanie off her path. After a while I found myself playing phone tag with her answering machine or through text.

Until she finally stopped answering and honestly, I stopped calling.

Although Stephanie is the client who prompted me to start my coach business, she wasn’t the last she was the first and the one that stuck with me. Unfortunately, there were too many that followed her to many delayed dreams of

I wanted to help, I believe that each person who heard no from a lender still wanted to be homeowners, they just needed some help and accountability to get them over the threshold- all pun intended

And that’s when I knew—I couldn’t just teach people how to buy homes. I had to help them transform their lives. And Uprooted and Transformed was born

WHY was this happening

What started as a program for first time buyer has spawned into a path to generational healing that leads to true prosperity

I quickly understood a home could be both a path to debt or a path to wealth and for the latter to happen I have to teach people how to dig- to uproot the real issues and transform their thinking spiritual- meaning the real you, relationally- which includes not just their relationship with people but with their money, heath and other areas and financially- by understanding money and how to use it to build legacy wealth .

I had a client tell me after we closed on the sale of her home- that I had restored her faith in realtors, because she has always saw realtors as people who were not trustworthy and only out to get as much money as they could while doing as little as possible.

I remember getting in my car feeling incredulous at her statement and asking God why he would lead me to a profession where people thought of me like this, where from the onset I was working behind the eight ball.

As clear as I’m talking to you, I heard because people are praying for people, they can trust to help them so continue to live a life that reflects the character and actions of Jesus.

I know I’m walking in my purpose helping people connect heart and home while teaching them how to heal and live an experience that spans generations.

You know I can’t sign off without offering you ways to win: If there’s a goal you’ve been trying to accomplish but you can’t seem to put the pieces together here are my

Five Tips to Widen Your View:

1.    Clarity in Purpose- Ask yourself—What are you truly trying to accomplish? Purpose isn’t always clear. Scripture tells us that without vision, people lose direction. So before we even start moving, we have to be crystal clear on where we're going.".

2.    Facing Internal Barriers once you are clear, ask yourself what’s truly holding you back. Sit with yourself alone, face your truths, and open the doors in your mind and heart that you are afraid to unlock. Let go of old hurt and disappointment—it’s the only path forward. We can’t fix what we won’t face. If there’s anything we’ve been avoiding—past failures, disappointments, or fears—now’s the time to bring them into the light. Transformation starts with honesty." Ephesians 5:13 says—‘But everything exposed by the light becomes visible—and everything that is illuminated becomes a light.’

3.    Ask yourself what needs to change in your life right now to complete step two and create step four. New results require new mindsets. If you want different, you have to think different, act different, and expect different."

4.    Take Action- Create an action plan. It’s not enough to say you’re going to do something—because you’re the first person you lie to. Write it down, share with a trusted friend or family member, and get out of your own way. "Faith without works is dead—so it’s not enough to hope for change, we have to step into it."

5.    Strategic planning and accountability are crucial to execution- Find someone one who wants to see you not only succeed but Soar!

I firmly believe in the end we always land right where we are supposed to be. God has a way of orchestrating our path, providing lessons and direction with every step

If I Could Leave You with One Thing…

Sis, you already know—this episode wasn’t just about obstacles. It was about what’s beneath them. Because sometimes, the biggest thing standing in your way isn’t what you see—it’s what you don’t.

Let’s recall our anchor scripture: Luke 8:17 "For nothing is hidden that will not be made manifest, nor is anything secret that will not be known and come to light."

To get to your destiny the hidden things must come to light

Because when you understand what’s been keeping you stuck, you stop running in circles. When you understand the patterns, the mindset, the cycles—you can break them. You can finally stop fighting battles that ain’t even yours to fight and start walking in the freedom God designed for you.

Because the truth is, what you don’t deal with, deals with you. And if you want a different outcome, you have to start with a different understanding.

And as always—remember: The more it scares you, the harder you go. If it doesn’t scare you, you’re going the wrong way.
